Disney Channel’s Prank Stars, a new hidden-camera series in which unsuspecting  tweens and teens are set up by family members, is premiering on Disney Channel July 25, 2011 at 8PM EST. In the new show, hosted by Mitchel Musso, Disney stars and fans come face-to-face with in humorous situations. “Prank Stars” is similar to the hit series “Punk’d,” where  the pranks are being played by celebrities on their fans.

In the premiere episode, guest stars Selena Gomez and Debby Ryan surprise some of their biggest fans. Selena plays a prank on a fan named Mary who is told to learn a jingle for an audition. She doesn’t know it, but the song is for a fake bubble gum commercial. Debby recruits another unsuspecting fan named Albany to model for her upcoming fashion show.  Albany’s loyalties are quickly tested when she is asked to fire Debby from the show. When Musso’s real-life best friend does not show up for an interview at a restaurant, he recruits Luke to step in.

After the teens learn they have been pranked, they have the opportunity to hang out with their favorite stars, a Disney spokeswoman said. Each episode will feature different group of stars. So far, six episodes have been ordered. In the show, Mitchel Musso directs the pranks from a covert mobile command center, and it’s worth noting, that he also co-wrote and performs the Prank Stars theme song.
